Pastor’s Weekly Reflection


May 10, 2026

Dear Most Holy Trinity Family:

In the Gospel passage appointed for this weekend, Jesus speaks of his fidelity to us, the unity between Jesus and the Father, and of the unity between us and God through Jesus Christ. This relationship is grounded in love and freedom. Jesus never coerces us to be in relation with God. Thus, our response to God must spring from a place of love and freedom as it cannot be forced or conditioned.

This weekend, many of us are remembering and celebrating our mothers. Today’s Gospel reminds me of the strong bond between a mother and child. Thus, when I see mothers caring for their little ones, and grown-up children caring for their elderly parents, I am moved by the strong sense of love, fidelity, and unity.

Speaking of fidelity to the MHT organization: Margarita Hua is no longer a member of the parish staff. Nevertheless, the MHT Jesuits are grateful for her long commitment to Ignatian Spirituality. I have only known Margarita for less than a year, but in this short time, I noticed her strong support and passion for Ignatian Spiritualty. I hope that she will continue to ignite others with the Ignatian flame. This, and other staffing changes, have come about due to a realignment of staff positions. Vietnamese- 5:30 pm – Mon to Fri except Wed. (Starting in June 2026 it will be Mon. to Friday)
